Data operations

Tax data status

Every rule set has a tax year, review date, coverage boundary, and source trail. Recurring checks look for changes; public numbers change only after the source and arithmetic are verified together.

Income-tax brackets, payroll and self-employment tax, retirement limits, HSA limits, QBI, and mileage.

Individual earned and business income rate schedules, with local-tax warnings and state-specific limitations.

Commercial pricesReviewed 2026-07-25

Public US pricing for Stripe, PayPal/Venmo, and Square. These inputs are checked more often because providers can change them without a tax-year cycle.

Automatic review, controlled release

A weekly review checks IRS, SSA, state tax-agency, and processor sources for a newer tax year, a certified rate trigger, amended guidance, a midyear change, or revised public pricing. When a candidate change appears, the affected value and its boundary tests must be updated together before publication. The site never imports an unreviewed number directly into a live calculator.

What “state coverage” means

The state calculator covers the published individual-income-tax rate schedule for a single or married-joint return when the user supplies state taxable income. It does not determine residency, create the state taxable-income line, or calculate credits, multistate allocation, alternative taxes, entity-level taxes, or city and county tax.
